I enjoyed lunch next to the Rio Grande River at John Dunn Bridge, El Prado, New Mexico. I boondocked on the bluffs above the bridge and had to take the long way around as the road up the bluff is permanently closed.

I boondocked up the road from the Gilman tunnels in the Guadalupe River box canyon. The tunnels were part of the former Santa Fe Northwestern Railway which hauled lumber from the Jemez Mountains in the early 1900s. The railway was eventually retired which allowed the tunnels to be converted into one of New Mexico’s most photogenic and interesting stretches of road. Jemez Puebo, New Mexico.
