Jack tries to field the ball in center field in the top of the 1st inning. The Nationals finished the regular season tied for first place in the American League, but were simply no match for the Athletics tonight. Having split their regular season games, we expected a competitive playoff game, but the Athletics started their ace pitcher and came to hit, handing the Nationals a 2-14 loss. Though the Nationals were eliminated from the playoffs earlier than expected, they had a great season.
