Nationals vs Pirates (14 Apr 2012)

Nats Win Season Opener Over Pirates. ARLINGTON, VA, April 14, 2012 /NATSweb/ -- The Nats won their season opener by a score of 4-1 against the Pirates. Mac 'Freak' Mulock scored two runs, Chris 'Buster' Kane doubled, and 'Cool Hand' Luke Nardini tripled to highlight the Nationals offense. Freak Mulock also earned the win pitching three innings giving up one unearned run on one hit and three walks and striking out eight. John 'Bandit' Merlene earned the save pitching three innings of no hit ball and striking out eight of the nine batters he faced.
